The Cookiebot Alternative: Consentfolio (2026 Comparison)

By Published 13 July 2026

Consentfolio is a cookie banner and consent-records tool that works as a Cookiebot alternative for sites that want a flat per-domain price instead of Cookiebot's per-subpage tiers. Both block trackers until consent and support Google Consent Mode v2. Two honest differences: Cookiebot automatically scans and categorises your cookies and Consentfolio does not, and Cookiebot has a free tier while Consentfolio starts at £9 per domain.

Cookiebot details below are correct as of July 2026. Check Cookiebot's pricing page for the current figures.

How the pricing models differ

Cookiebot prices each domain by the number of subpages its scanner finds. The free tier covers one domain up to 50 subpages and includes an initial cookie scan. Premium Lite starts at £6 per month for up to 50 subpages, and the price rises as the scanner counts more pages. Each domain is billed on its own, and every plan includes a 14-day trial.

Consentfolio prices each domain by monthly users: £9 up to 100,000, £24 up to 500,000, £49 above that. The figure holds whatever your page count, and there is no traffic overage. A large content site with modest traffic pays the flat rate rather than climbing Cookiebot's subpage tiers. A small site with few pages is cheaper on Cookiebot's free or £6 plan.

When Cookiebot is the better choice

Cookiebot fits better if you need any of these today:

  • A free or very cheap plan for a small site. Cookiebot's free tier and £6 Premium Lite cover sites under 50 subpages. Consentfolio has no free plan.
  • Automatic cookie scanning. Cookiebot crawls your site and categorises cookies for you. Consentfolio does not scan yet, so you declare cookies from templates.
  • Multilingual banners. Cookiebot serves the banner in 47 or more languages. Consentfolio is single-language at present.
  • A Google-certified CMP or IAB TCF. If you run Google AdSense or Ad Manager, or serve programmatic ads through the Transparency and Consent Framework, you need a certified CMP. Cookiebot is certified; Consentfolio is not.

When Consentfolio fits

Consentfolio suits sites and agencies that want:

  • A flat per-domain price that does not climb with your page count, and no traffic overage.
  • Exportable consent records per domain, ready to show the ICO. See how to prove cookie consent.
  • Agency billing handoff: set up a client's banner, keep control, and let the client pay. See cookie consent for agencies.
  • One script tag on any platform, no plugin.

Frequently asked questions

Is Consentfolio cheaper than Cookiebot? Not always. Cookiebot has a free tier and a £6 Premium Lite plan for small sites. Consentfolio starts at £9 per domain. Consentfolio's flat, per-user price can work out lower for content-heavy sites, where Cookiebot's per-subpage tiers climb, and it avoids traffic overage. Choose on the pricing model, not the headline figure.

Can I switch from Cookiebot to Consentfolio? Yes. Remove the Cookiebot script and add the Consentfolio tag to your <head>. Your banner and records start fresh on Consentfolio.

Does Consentfolio scan cookies like Cookiebot? No. You declare your cookies from templates in the dashboard. A scanner is on the roadmap.

Is Consentfolio a Google-certified CMP? No. It supports Google Consent Mode v2 for GA4 and Google Ads, but it is not certified for AdSense or Ad Manager, and it is not TCF-registered.
